Go Green on St. Patrick’s Day
The commemoration of Ireland’s St. Patrick is traditionally celebrated around the world with green decor, festivities and green beer. But how about truly going green this St. Patrick’s Day — or get pinched!
Here are some tips on how you can go green during this year’s celebration:
- Plant something green - if you don’t have room to plant at your own home, there are several Triangle area community gardens. try planting organic clover for an Irish twist.
- Feast on locally grown and organic fruits and veggies
- Make that Green Beer Organic! Stop in your local store and pick up some organic beer. Don’t forget to use organic green food coloring.
- If throwing a party, use eco-friendly cups, utensils, plates and napkins
- Use, reuse and recycle!

Yes!!! I know. One of my colleagues actually blogged about it several weeks ago. http://blogs.wncn.info/dsutton/
I have a garbage disposal, but I have never really used it b/c my condo is so old that the disposal doesn’t really work too well. As a result, I won’t be suffering from the ruling…

Top o’ the mornin to ye!
But, this is not about St. Paddy’s Day - it’s about the law the City of Raleigh just passed outlawing NEW garbage disposals because of all the grease in the sewer system backing up the garbage.
Can you live without a new garbage disposal??
