This Sunday marks the two year anniversary of the North Carolina Education Lottery. At 6:00 a.m. March 30, 2006, State Board of Education Chairman Howard Lee bought the ceremonial first North Carolina lottery ticket in Raleigh.100 percent of the net proceeds of the North Carolina Education Lottery will go to education expenses, including reduced class size in early grades, academic prekindergarten programs, school construction, and scholarships for needy college and university students
